Not sure I agree with this. Something I an aching to write about is the decarbonization of energy. We began decarbonizing our energy sources long before we knew of climate change. As a civilization, our primary energy source moved from Wood->Coal->Oil->Gas, all are fossil fuels, but each each step along this process saw reduced pollution and about 30 percent reduced carbon emissions per unit of energy.

Will feature this phenomenon on Risk+Progress.

Of course we can do "something". Pardon my silly analogy, but you likely would not crap in your backyard, which is in a way what we do in many respects on many forms of pollution. We could do a ton of things differently and come out better at that, but it does look like too many find crapping in the backyard convenient. ;)
